Biography of N.K. Tong, WG’94

Mr. Tong is the co-founder and Group Managing Director of Bukit Kiara Properties (BKP), a premier real estate developer of lifestyle homes in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He was formerly the Executive Director of Sunrise Berhad, a public-listed property developer.  He helped create the exit for the family shareholding in Sunrise in 1996, ahead of the Asian crisis in 1997.  Mr. Tong is an independent director of the Vinaland Fund, a real estate investment fund listed on AIM London, and investing in Vietnam.  He is also a member of the investment committee and an independent director of both KSC Capital, a dynamic unit trust management company in Malaysia, and Accelera Ventures, a boutique Pacific Rim growth fund in Hong Kong. He also serves as an Executive Committee Member of the Young Presidents’ Organisation (YPO), Malaysian Chapter and was formerly a National Council Member of the Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association (REHDA), Malaysia. Mr. Tong has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, and a Masters of Business Administration degree, majoring in Real Estate, from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA.
